William O. “Bill” Crider, 79, of West Lafayette, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at his residence.
Born Aug. 11, 1930, in Tippecanoe County, he was the son of the late Perry and Elsie Kincaid Crider.
He graduated from Klondike High School, attended Purdue University, and in 1961 attended LaSalle University. He served in the Army as a lab tech during the Korean War.
On Oct. 6, 1981, he married Joan Lowell Garner in West Lafayette, and she survives.
Mr. Crider worked at Home Hospital as head of housekeeping and owned/operated a hobby and craft store in West Lafayette and Eagle Manufacturing in Lafayette. He then owned Eagle Techtronics, which did electronic repair and sound system installation.
He was a member of American Legion, Logansport Modified Midgets in 1970, Lafayette Chamber of Commerce from 1956 to 1957, and Experimental Aircraft Association.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Jennifer L. Crider of Fishers and Deborah Roslewski (husband: William) of Lafayette; a son, Douglas Crider (wife: Dana) of Lafayette; two sisters, Betty Smith of West Lafayette and Carolyn Norfleet (husband: Lillard) of Brookston; and a brother, Donald Crider (wife Millie) of West Lafayette.
Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West, West Lafayette. Graveside service 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, Pastor Del Broersma officiating. Interment at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
