Back in 1998 I switched school majors from Business (Krannert) to Mechanical Engineering Technology (KNOY). I really enjoyed having Mr. Dalton as an instructor during my first semester in MET. I shared my background with him of working in the industry for almost a decade (gear manufacturing and sheet metal industry and he shared ALCOA) before I decided to attend college. His first recommendation for his class was that I go out and purchase a good graphing calculator...so I went out and purchased the big TI-92 (honestly I'm staring at it as I write this post - I still have it as memorabilia). The next day we were going to take a quiz and he walked by my desked and grabbed my TI-92 in shock and asked if I was planning to watch ESPN with my new calculator (because of how big it was). We both couldn't stop laughing...May Mr. Dalton Rest in Heaven and prayers to his family and loved ones.

My life trajectory was forever changed by Bill. I was a young and dumb kid going into the College of Engineering at Purdue. A few weeks before I was to start as a Freshman, I thought would attend a little speech on the merits of Purdue's School of Technology. Bill was the speaker, and I was absolutely enraptured. I changed my college direction based on one hour of time listening to Bill's advice. God has put the right people in my life at the right time, and Bill was one of those people. Blessings to the family!

My heart goes out to the Dalton family in the loss of Bill. Bill and Marilyn were the absolute best people I encountered in my time spent at Covenant Presbyterian Church. They both garnered the highest respect possible. No one deserves to hear the words,”Well done” from Jesus’ lips more than Bill. Love to you all.

Stephanie, I read your dad’s obituary and instantly remembered the wonderful laughter and joy in him. Spending time with your parents growing up and in youth group provided so much fun, acceptance and their commitment to Jesus. Know you are loved and are sent lots of hugs ❤️
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Bill was such a great man. I enjoyed knowing him as well as his wife, Marilyn, when we served together on the Board for LifeCare Services. I am sorry I will be out-of-state for the reception on April 1st but my thoughts are with the family. Rod

I was blessed to know Bill Dalton. In my years on the Covenant Church staff in the 1980's I experienced Bill to be a faithful Christ-follower, a gifted and wise church elder and trustee, ever ready to learn and grow in His faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ, a gentle-man, ever ready with his signature quiet smile as if he knew a secret, and personally encouraging to me when he joined me in considering the "Psalm of the Day." My condolences to the family.

I have many happy memories of growing up around the corner from the Dalton family, and spending a lot of time at their home. It was always a house full of fun and laughter, and lots of activity. Bill and Marilyn were the heart of the home, and I always felt welcomed. Bill, especially, always had a joke or a story for any of the kids that came through the door. In later years, I would often see Bill and Marilyn at Panera Bread at lunch time. They always remembered me and we would chat. I will miss Bill's warmth and kindness, but our loss is heaven's gain! My condolences to the entire Dalton family. Susan Rund Ince
