William Henry Gregory, 62, of Lafayette, died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, while peacefully resting. Born November 18, 1950, in Lafayette, to Edward and Elizabeth (Rosa) Gregory. He was known as Bill to family and friends. He graduated from Klondike High School. He married Karlajean (Rentschler) Gregory in 1973; they later divorced and maintained a friendship. Bill had worked road construction for over 30 years at Fauber Construction (now Milestone). He retired and began working for the Salvation Army. He loved watching his family race stock cars as a child on through adult life. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears, horse racing, boxing, tennis, and auto racing with his sons. Bill also enjoyed fishing and remodeling his home. Surviving are two sons, Nicholas Gregory of Lafayette, and Matthew Gregory of Indianapolis. A sister, Nancy Jordan of West Lafayette, also survives. He was preceded in death by infant siblings Delores and Steve, and brothers Eugene, Danny and James Gregory. In lieu flowers, family requests memorial contributions to Salvation Army 1110 Union St. Lafayette, IN 47904. Private services will be held Tuesday in West Lafayette.
