William “Bill” Luscombe, 82, formerly of Lafayette, died at 4:28 AM Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Riverwalk Commons in Noblesville. He was born May 29, 1932, in Lafayette, to the late William and Leone Luscombe. He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1951 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force until 1956. On May 29, 1952 he married Nancy Gay in Lafayette. Bill managed software development at Chrysler for 17 years, then served as a senior leader of civil engineering firms Michigan, Maine and Maryland. He was the former president of Civil Engineering Professionals Association (CEPA) and a member and former president of the Germantown, Maryland Chamber of Commerce, Bill was devoted to his wife of 41 years, Nancy, his sons and his extended family, he enjoyed sports and spending his free time with family and friends. Surviving are his sons, Bill Luscombe of Indianapolis and Michael Luscombe (wife Karen) of Manakin Sabot, VA, a sister, Susie Eckles of Carmel, granddaughters Tara Prestia of Union Beach, NJ, Carrie Drikert of Beverly Hills, MI, Jill Luscombe of Royal Oaks, MI, Sara Harris and Allison Luscombe both of Richmond, VA and 5 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Nancy and a sister Carol Butler. Graveside service will be 10:30 AM Friday August 29, 2014 at Spring Vale Cemetery.
