William C.”Bill” Hughes, 78, of West Lafayette, died at 11:50 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at his residence.
He was born April 10, 1932, in Campbellsburg, to the late Ray Thomas and Lula A. Coots Hughes.
He served in the United States Army as an M.P. from July 1050 to July 1958.
On 03/18/1951 he married Christene Hattabough in Brownstown, and she survives.
He was a member of American Legion Post 296 of Chalmers and enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing and camping.
Surviving along with his spouse is a daughter Jenny Aubrey (husband Garry) of West Lafayette; 2 sons
Larry J. Hughes (wife Margaret) of Lafayette and Michael D. Hughes (wife Lisa) of West Lafayette
Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, a son, a brother, 4 sisters and 2 grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel 1184 Sagamore Parkway W. West Lafayette, IN 47906 with Rev. Kevin Bowers officiating.
