William A. Bogan, 75, of Lafayette, peacefully passed away with his beloved wife, daughter, son & grandson by his side, May 14, 2023 at his residence.
He was born January 8, 1948, in Lafayette, to the late Jack and Mary (Krabbe) Bogan.
William graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1966 and received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, graduating in 1970.
He served in the National Guard.
On January 15, 1976, he married Nora Stead in Lafayette and she survives.
William worked as an Insurance Agent and Agency Owner of The Mitchell Agency.
He was a member of St. Mary Cathedral, Central Catholic Athletic Association, American Legion Post #11, John Purdue Club and served on the Alcohol and Tobacco Commission. He also served as a valuable member of The Lafayette Youth Baseball Organization for many years.
William enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, rooting for Purdue University Sports, the Chicago Bears, fishing, doing yard work, and relaxing around the campfire with a cold beer.
Surviving is his wife, Nora M. Bogan of Lafayette, son William Bogan Jr. of Lafayette, two daughters, Brandi B. (Leonard) Guida of West Lafayette and Shawn (William) Kennedy of Lafayette, a brother, Jack R. (Connie) Bogan, two sisters, Katy Eberle and Jenny (Charles) Rooze all of Lafayette. Also surviving are grandchildren, Leo and Albert Guida, Max and Macy Bogan along with their mother Lindsey Bogan, and Jordan Kennedy as well as three great grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Douglas W. Eberle.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with Rosary being said at 4:30 pm on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette.
The eulogy will be given at 10:30 AM, followed by a Catholic Mass at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 19, 2023 at St. Mary Cathedral. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery, Lafayette.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Central Catholic Athletic Association.
