Vivian L. Stroud, 92, of Lafayette died peacefully Monday, September 19, 2016 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis surrounded by her family.  She was born July 9, 1924, in Owensburg, IN, to the late Clarence and Inez Ross Waggoner.  On March 29, 1943 she married Alfred Stroud Jr. in Shoals, IN and he survives.  Vivian enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, quilting, reading, crossword puzzles and traveling.  Surviving along with her husband of 73 years are her children Judith Ann DeGroff (husband Thomas) of Lafayette, David W. Stroud (Wife Jo) of Battle Ground, Jeffrey B. Stroud (companion Jill Selby) of Lafayette, grandchildren Bryan Stroud, Jamie DiDomenico, Sheila DeGroff, Levi Stroud, Meghann Carrigan, Marissa Stroud and 8 great grandchildren.  Also surviving are her sisters Dorothy Cox of Avoca, IN, Jean Baker of Bedford and several nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd.  Entombment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Food Finders or the Salvation Army in Vivian’s memory.
