Verne Lee Comer, 94, died Nov. 19, 2017. He was born September 24, 1923 to the late Verna and Lillie Comer. Verne graduated from Jefferson High School. He was married on October 10, 1942 to Rosemary May Wolter who died on August 21, 2017. Verne worked at the Hudson Motor Car Company in Detroit, Michigan during WW II, building B-26 bombers. After the war, he returned to Lafayette and was employed at Refrigeration Services, Monon Railroad, Anhauser-Busch and retired from A. E. Staley in 1986. Verne was a member of the First Christian Church, Masonic Lodge 123, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Merou Grotto, Old Rails and Moose Lodge 1529. Verne is survived by sons, Richard (Karen) Comer and David Comer, grandchildren, Angi Comer and Shane (Kim) Comer, granddaughter Sydnee Comer and many nieces and nephews. It was Verne's wishes to have no services.
