Thomas E. Lehman, 84, of Battle Ground, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Creasy Springs Health Campus.
He was born February 28, 1940, in Lafayette to the late Wilbur and Martha (Stackhouse) Lehman.
Tom graduated from Battle Ground High School Class of 1958 and attended classes at Purdue. He served in the United States Air Force from 1961-1964. On September 25, 1965, he married Donna Chura in Denver, Co.
Tom worked at the Purdue University Airport prior to becoming co-owner of Ra-Comm, where he retired after 40 years. Tom joined the Tippecanoe Township Volunteer Fire Department in 1964, where he served his community for 50 years. He served as Fire Chief for over 25 years. Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, taking Canadian fishing trips, and his beloved dogs.
Surviving are wife, Donna of Battle Ground; 3 children, Kelly (Mark) Elder of Fishers, Jennifer (Bob Gurnick), and Tom (Michelle) Lehman; his brother, Philip (Jackie) Lehman; 7 grandchildren, Katie (Jeremy) O’Toole, Emily Jarboe, Mark Elder, Jamie (Jason) Miller, Daniel Charles, Kyren Lehman, and Jack Lehman; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur D. and Martha A. Lehman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tom’s name can be given to Tippecanoe Township Volunteer Fire Department, 448 W. 650 N., West Lafayette, IN 47906.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until time of service at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Soller-Baker, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, 47909.
