Thomas E. Anderson, 71, of Lafayette, died at 4:20 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Central.
Born Oct. 14, 1938, in Bedford, he was the son of the late Charles and Hagar Hill Anderson. He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1956 and served in the Air Force from 1956 to 1960.
On Sept. 2, 1961, he married Kathryn Van Dame, and she preceded him in death on July 19, 2005.
Mr. Anderson was production supervisor at TRW/Ross Gear for 30 years and retired in 1993. After retirement he worked at the Purdue golf course and Power Trane in Lafayette.
He was member of Brady Lane Church of Christ, Eagles Aerie 347 and Williamsport Alumni Class of 1956. He had been a Boy Scout leader for Troop 372. He enjoyed the outdoors, genealogy and golf.
Surviving are a son, Mark T. Anderson (wife: Terri) of Attica; a daughter, Tamryn M. Chambers (husband: Wayne) of Battle Ground; a brother, Marshall D. Anderson (wife: Sue) of Attica; and a sister, Nancy C. Jones (husband: Sterling) of Ballwin, Mo.
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Zach and Storm Anderson and Bethany and Brittany Chambers.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service 10 a.m. Wednesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, J. William Overbay officiating. Entombment at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Those wishing may contribute to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Diabetes Association or Brady Lane Church of Christ.

We are sending our condolences to all of you on line because we both have had colds and do not want to spread our germs to everyone else.

We would like to share with you thatTom was a special person in our hearts and we will miss him.

We were part of the Friday night supper group and enjoyed his company for many years.

We shared many laughs and stories through good times and bad.

The world is a better place because of people like Tom. He was kind, loving, and a sweet spirited man. I was a lucky person to have a cousin like Tommy. He was a combination of his mother Hagar and his father Charles, wonderful parents. I feel blessed to be a part of his family.

My deepest sympathy to Tom&s children and their spouses, grand- children, brother and sister and their family. You all are in my prayers.
