Thomas C. Ghering, 54, of West Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 3, 2020 at St. Vincent Kokomo.
He was born September 27, 1965, in Franklin, PA, to Jacqueline (Boals) Ghering Rose of Lafayette and the late David Ghering Sr.
Thomas earned his master’s degree from Purdue University.
For the past sixteen years Thomas was an English Professor for Ivy Tech in Kokomo. Tom was also an Adjunct Professor at Purdue University for 10 years.
Thomas enjoyed reading and baseball.
Surviving along with his mother are two sons, Derek Ghering of West Lafayette and Travis (Rhiannan Smith) Ghering of Auburn, WA, the mother of his children, Tina-Marie Stahl of West Lafayette, a brother, David (Terri) Ghering Jr. of Fowler and two grandchildren, Layla and Dominic Ghering.
Friends will be received from 1:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West, West Lafayette, IN 47906
In lieu of flowers those wishing may contribute to Ivy Tech for the Tom Ghering Memorial Scholarship, P.O. Box 1373 Kokomo, IN 46903.
