Talmage M. “Bud” Croley, 77, of Lafayette, passed away April 11, 2023, at Franciscan Health East, Lafayette with his loved ones by his side.
He was born November 24, 1945, in Cincinnati, OH to the late Talmage C. and Helen (Hannah) Croley. He was a graduate of Green Hills High School in Cincinnati and attended college at University of Cincinnati. On December 14, 1968, he married his best friend and love of his life, Evelynn (Lynn) Harris in Cincinnati, OH, and she survives.
Bud worked as a Retail Manager for Target Department Stores until his retirement after 26 years. Upon retirement, he worked at the Ace Hardware Store in Lafayette. He enjoyed fishing, putting together models, especially military models, playing video games, and telling stories and jokes. He was a Green Bay Packer and NASCAR fan and was a huge history buff. Above all, he was a devoted and proud husband and father who enjoyed taking care of and spending time with his beautiful wife and daughter.
Along with his wife, Evelynn, he is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Croley Porter of Lafayette; 2 sisters, Jeanine Dooley and Louise “Linda” Niesen, both of Cincinnati; and a brother, Linza (Rose) Croley of Elsmere, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Talmage and Helen Croley; and 2 sisters, Deva Vogt and Myrtle Ucthman.
Memorial contributions in Bud’s name may be given to the local Humane Society, and Purdue University School of Nursing.
No services will be held at this time, however, a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
