I am heartbroken by this news. I will always remember your kindness and generosity. When I first came from Italy as a visiting scholar, you went out of your way to help me settle in. Years later, when my wife and I returned to Purdue for my postdoc, you were there for us again with the same warmth and kindness. I will also always cherish the Friendsgiving gatherings you hosted. My wife and I were fortunate to attend several of them and to get to know your wonderful family. You had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome. Thank you for the kindness you showed us and so many others. You will be deeply missed. My heartfelt condolences to your family. Rest in peace.

Suzanne joined the PLaCE program in the summer of 2015 and was incredibly helpful during her first year as the program administrative assistant, especially in supporting our large-scale language testing operations. I also have fond memories of attending her Friendsgiving gatherings during a couple of Thanksgiving breaks and the social gatherings she graciously hosted for the Colombian faculty and staff participating in our summer English training programs.

Suzanne touched the lives of many around the world. Many students and scholars from around the world benefited from knowing her and by all of us she will be missed. She always greeted you with a smile regardless of what was going on with her and once she knew you she made you feel like family. Her house was always a convening place to meet strangers, exchange ideas and feel embraced by her hospitality. We are all lucky that she came into our lives and made us better people.

As an international student in the US, it is hard to put into words how much you value a welcoming comment and smile on campus. Suzanne was the epitome of kindness for many of us who were "lost" in bureaucracy or simply clueless about how things worked in such a different environment from our countries of origin. Not only that, but Suzanne frequently went above and beyond duty to help and support by a little talk, a genuine check on how we were doing or even hosting an all-Purdue celebration at her house. Suzanne will be missed not only in the US but around the world wherever there is a person lucky enough to have met her. Sit tibi terra levis.

I was so happy to see Suzanne at our class reunion. We had a nice visit and made plans to attend a Purdue football game this fall. I was so saddened when Suzanne sent me a text that her health had declined. She was so happy and positive at our reunion. I’m so glad she found the strength to attend. I’m keeping all of her family in my thoughts and prayers, especially Norma and Connie.

Suzanne was a wonderful friend and colleague, and one of the most devoted Purdue fans I have ever known, second only to my father. We shared a deep love for Purdue University, for our PLaCE program, and for Boilermaker sports. I will always be grateful for her friendship, her humor, her unforgettable laugh, and the many Purdue memories we shared. She will be deeply missed.

Suzanne and I worked closely together for ten years at Purdue. I'll miss our conversations about Purdue, our dogs, our families, traveling, yard work, and so much more. We did some great things together at Purdue and had a lot of fun doing it. We'll miss you, Suzanne!

I worked with Suzanne at Purdue. She was deeply competent, funny, and kind. What better combination? To Suzanne's family far and wide, I wish for peace and comfort in memories of a lovely person.

It was so nice that Suzanne was able to attend our 50th class reunion in June. We all had a nice visit. I had seen her occasionally at the Country Club with her sister Connie in past summers. Always nice talking to her as to what we were both doing at the time. She’ll be missed. Your classmate, Tammy 💔🙏🏼
