Sue Ann Ritter, 79, died March 23, 2015 at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. She was born July 3, 1935, to the late Lawrence Stockamp and Wilma Kruse Stockamp in Seymour, Indiana. Sue graduated from North Side High School and Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Norman L. Ritter. They were married on January 26, 1957 in Fort Wayne. Sue worked many years as a registered nurse in Indiana and Charleston, South Carolina. She was devoted to her family but also contributed in various ways to her church and community. Sue was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church and was always very involved in the congregation. Her many other activities included delivering for Meals on Wheels for over 25 years, volunteering at Home Hospital, and serving as an officer of the Lafayette Symphony Guild. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and visiting with her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Dennis Ritter (Nancy) of Raleigh, North Carolina, and David Ritter (Joe Guthridge) of Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her son Douglas (June) of Orlando, Florida. Also surviving are five grandsons, Matthew, Andrew, and Nicholas, of Orlando, Florida; Brian, of Chicago, Illinois; and Kevin, of Boone, North Carolina; and brothers Tom, Fred and Bob. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, at Grace Lutheran Church in Lafayette. Visitation will precede the service at the church from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM and a light luncheon will follow. Officiating will be Pastor Stuart Schulz. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
