Stephanie Anne Lathrop

Stephanie Lathrop, 60, of Lafayette Indiana, passed away on July 27, 2026, after a long fight with cancer and diabetes, at Franciscan Health, Lafayette, surrounded by her loved ones.
Stephanie was born on May 23,1966 in Richmond Indiana to the late Robert Clark and Janet Clark. They moved to Lafayette Indiana in 1970. Stephanie attended McCutcheon High School. On June 29, 2002, she married the love of her life and childhood best friend, Tony “Randy Lathrop. The couple, along with their sons, Jacob and Matthew, moved to Lafayette in 2002. In 2004, they excitedly welcomed the birth of their daughter, Grace.
Prior to moving to Lafayette, Stephanie spent time as a White County Corrections Officer. Once in Lafayette, she spent her time raising Grace and was the glue of their family. She loved her family fiercely; they were her #1 priority and the center of everything she did. Along with being a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and much more, she faced life with excitement and was passionate about everything she did. Stephanie enjoyed planting, cooking, concerts, fishing, camping, and most importantly spending time with her family.
In October of 2025, Stephanie was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer while also battling diabetes. Stephanie had the kind of spirit that would never stop fighting. Always believing in the good in things in life, she maintained her positivity throughout her treatment, knowing her family would be ok. Despite her difficult diagnosis, she faced every day with dignity, faith, and amazing strength. Her will power was and always will be an inspiration to us all. Stephanie wanted to be an example of faith and determination, regardless of the outcome of her treatment. She wanted to be an example to us all and did it beautifully. Stephanie did not lose her fight with cancer or diabetes; she won the fight against negativity and was living proof of our Lords love and strength.
She is now free of all of the pain she had endured and was received by the Lord with open arms. Stephanie is loved and will be missed by so many. We were privileged to have known and loved her and to have been loved by her.
Along with her husband “Randy”; she is survived by her parents, Janet (Cletus) Pelfree; 3 children, Grace (Kyle), Jacob (Mandy) Lathrop, Matthew (Chelsea) Clark; 6 grandchildren, Noah, Kyler, Naomi, Vivianne, Micah, Eva and James; 5 siblings; Karriane Noyes, Nancy McClimans, Joe Pelfree, Scott Pelfree, and Nick Pelfree; 2 aunts, “Susie” Bane and Vickie Bane; 6 cousins, Sherry, Brian, Ronnie, Nicole, Jeff and David Lindley of Richmond, IN; a nephew, Joshua Bushong, and 2 nieces, Alana Bushong and Neah (Owen) Noyes; cousins, Rebecca Oglesby and family, and Sarah Pineta and family, noth of New Jersey.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Clark; her grandparents, Forest (Lorena) Allen, Orval (Josephine) Clark, Betty (Earl) Van Dyke, and John Lindley Sr.; an uncle, John “Jock” Lindley Jr.; and 2 nephews, Braeden Dimmit and Justin Bushong; aunt, Ann Lindley Hadden; and cousin, William Hadden III.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until time of memorial service at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 6th, 2026, at Harvest Chapel, 2028 S. 22 St., Lafayette, IN 47905.
Interment will immediately follow at Meadow View Cemetery, 3733 Poland Hill Rd., Lafayette, IN 47909.
Harvest Chapel will host a memorial gathering and time to remember Stephanie after the graveside committal service.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Narayan and team, and all of the nurses at Franciscan Health, Lafayette, who did so much to help, care, and support Stephanie through it all. Stephanie loved and adored each and every person she came in contact with at the hospital during her treatments and appointments. You all became family. We truly appreciate everything you have done for her and our family.
