Scott J. Nape of Lafayette passed away Aug. 17, 2026, at his home.
Born January 16, 1962, in Lafayette to Jack Nape and Linda Nape (Long). He was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. Following high school, Scott went on to work many years at Purdue University, then S.I.A and finally C.A.T Logistics.
He loved all music, especially Fleetwood Mac. He loved boating and fishing with his granddaughter and taking warm beach vacations with his grandson. In his personal time, he loved to pull tabs at Champs.
He is survived by his 2 children, Amber (Dorian Avila) Nape and Anthony (Chelsea) Nape; 2 grandchildren, Ian Nape and Jacelynn Nape; a sister, Christina Timmons and her daughter, Ashely Grott. He was a proud and loving uncle to many, including David Smith, Stephanie Long, Stacey Jennings, Alex Smith, Emily Smith, and Great Uncle to 10. He will also be leaving behind loving family members. mother-in-law, Nancy Carney; ex-wife Brenda Carney; step-son Robert “Bobbie” Ferguson; brother-in-law, Steve Carney; and Charles Weatherford, Ashely Weatherford, Nicholas Weatherford, and Sophia Banes.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until time of service at 7:00 pm, Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Soller-Baker, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette, IN 47909.
A Celebration honoring Scott’s life will be held for family and friends at Champs, 610 S. Earl Ave., Lafayette, IN 47904.
