Sandra R. Brummett

Sandra R. Brummett, 79, of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Creasy Springs in Lafayette.  She was born July 23, 1944, in Manchester, NH, to the late Oscar and Rita (Montmarquet) Lessard.

Sandy was educated by the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Augustine School and Manchester Central High School in Manchester, NH.  On August 11, 1962, she married Samuel J. Brummett in Manchester, NH and he survives.

Sandra retired from The Lafayette Life Insurance Co. as an Adminstrator of Securities Transactions in the Investment Department in December of 1998.  She had previously worked at United Home Life Insurance Company formerly of Greenwood.

She was a member of St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church where she was Lector and Sacristan.  She was also a member of the Lafayette/Indianapolis Cursillo community (#60).

Sandy was a certified life member of the Indianapolis WBA National 600 Bowling Club.  Her hobbies included knitting, reading and a love for singing.  In her youth, she was a Junior Lifeguard and also enjoyed ice-skating.

Surviving along with her husband are her daughters Sherri (Sarah) Snyder of Indianapolis, Tracy Brummett, Darcy Brummett both of Lafayette.

Also surviving are her grandchildren Melissa Brummett, Nathaniel Terry, Michael Brummett and a great granddaughter McKayla Pierle.  Sandra was preceded in death by her sisters Gloria Moore and Cheryl Bayerlein.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd.    Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church.  Interment will be at St. Boniface Cemetery in Lafayette, IN.  Memorial contributions may be made to Lafayette Catholic Schools in Sandra’s memory.
