Sandra J. Vaughn, 68
Sandra Jean “”Sandy””Vaughn, 68, of Zephyrhills, Fla., formerly of Lafayette, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at Royal Oak Nursing Center in Dade City Fla.
Born Nov. 10, 1941, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of the late John and Marie Leslie McBrite. She attended Lafayette Jefferson High School.
On Jan. 30, 1960, she married RichardJ. “”Joe”” Vaughn in Lafayette, and he survives.
Surviving with her husband are three sons, Michael Vaughn (wife: Kathy) and Marc Vaughn (wife: Regina), both of Lafayette, and Ricky Vaughn (wife: Kim) of Naples, Fla.; a daughter, Tamara Spriggs (husband: Thomas) of Norfolk, Va.; two brothers, John McBrite (wife: Billie) of Leesburg, Fla., and Donald McBrite of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and a sister, Phyllis Ledman of Lafayette.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Kevin Vaughn, Ashley Vaughn, Rebecca Vaughn, Renea Vaughn, Mackenzie Vaughn, Savannah Spriggs and Siennah Spriggs; and a great-grandson, Jackson Vaughn.
Visitation 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service 10 a.m. Saturday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Interment at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Send condolences to www.soller-baker.com

Dear Old Friends,
We have such fond memories of the many fine families with whom we were associated in the Longlois neighborhood years ago; your family was definitely one of them. Sandy was our son Mathieu&s first baby-sitter. We had such peace knowing he was in good care. Many times we have reflected upon the reassurance she shared as we left our precious firstborn with her while we worked.
Please accept our words, thoughts, and prayers to each of you at this sad time knowing more than immediate family will miss her fine character and gentle heart for a long time. Tender memories will comfort you with your loss.
