With hearts overflowing with love and sorrow, we announce the birth and passing of our precious son, Samuel James Carrell, on May 18, 2026. Though he never took a breath in this world, his life was a sacred gift—one that touched us profoundly and reminded us of the depth of God’s love. We trust that he rests now in the gentle arms of the Lord, wrapped in perfect peace and held in a grace beyond our understanding.
Samuel is cherished beyond measure by his parents, Jeff and Katie Carrell, who will carry his memory with them always. He is also survived by his brothers, Lucas and Mason Carrell, great-grandfather, George Truex, grandparents, Tony and Barb Carrell, Kim and Doug Desper, aunts and uncles, Ellen (Ryan) Dernay, Julie (Jon) Harris, and Daniel (Kristina) Desper. He is also loved by many cousins, great-aunts and uncles, extended family and friends who prayed for him, celebrated his existence, and awaited his arrival with open hearts. Though he was with us for only a moment, he will be remembered for a lifetime.
We take comfort in knowing that our sweet boy is now in heaven, whole and safe, surrounded by angels and embraced by the One who created him. We believe that one day we will hold him again, and until that day comes, we keep him close in our hearts, trusting in God’s promise of eternal life.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalms 34:18
Until we meet again, beloved son, may your light shine in our hearts and your memory guide us with love.
