Oh My Dear Dear Sally Jane, we have been so close since we met in 4th grade when our mom's were walking with each of us around downtown. You and I had the VERY same outfits on from The Juvenile Shop in downtown Lafayette. I still can remember our Mom's laughing so hard at the sight of the brunette and blonde in the exact same outfit. I thought our Mom's were NUTTY that day acting so surprised and tickled to death. That was a meeting that would go down in the Lischke-Siegrist history forever. Our families started going together to Miami Beach, Florida for our 2 week Christmas Vacation at the ADORED by us, Pan American Hotel. We had the time of our lives each Christmas in the ocean and on the beach while our parents played Shuffleboard and basked away in the sun. We headed for the Pan American for many many years together. Our vacations together did not end there, we went to the Wagon Wheel for several Easters also. Sally and I went to Lightning Dude Ranch together where Sally first learned how to ride and take care of horses. Also our families went together to French Lick and to Fort Wayne, Indiana when my dad had a Pharmacy convention of some sort. Sally and I spent our time at Woolworths all afternoon collecting "Trading Items" for our many Trading Times together. Our Fort Wayne "Charm Machine" was emptied by us and we both still have ALL our Trading Items. Sally even made me a little Christmas tree using all MY charms from the Magic Charm Machine. We played SO many hands of Old Maid, Parcheesi, Candy Land, Uncle Wiggly, Sorry and made monster models together. I am Frankie and Sally was Wolfie for our Scary Frankenstein/ Wolfman Club. Our Mom's took us to Indianapolis to go shopping and to L.S.Ayres and Blocks to the awesome candy counter and then the four of us would go to a movie like Mary Poppins and many others. Whenever Sally and I got together as adults it was STILL always just Sally and Jeannie and we did the very same stuff as when we were kids. We played our old boardgames, reminisce about the Pan Am, Wagon Wheel, our parents singing around the piano with Dan, her dad pounding the Ivories. We would always laugh and giggle just like we were kids when we were together. I can NEVER forget you Sally because we have too many things in the house that are just alike plus our love of dogs and animals. We went to church together each Sunday at 1st Presbyterian Church and loved Saturday mornings together at Arts & Crafts in the basement of 1st Presbyterian. As you can tell, I could go on and on and on FOREVER with all the FUN FUN FUN we had together, just like sisters that neither one of us had. So Miss Sally Jane Siegrist, get on your dear boy Shane and ride like the wind in heaven. Then gather your turtle, Rags, Raz, Spud, and Grace and walk them without pain and thanks for being such a good and fun friend with me along with all the FUN our parents had together. We were so lucky to have NOTHING but FUN together. Later gator, jeannie

I am hoping "Pete" will see this. Pete, I worked for your dad at Fairfield - he hired me in February, 1963 and was my mentor for twenty five years - I thought the world of Dan - no finer man ever worked there. We had a wonderful relationship, he as company Treasurer myself as Controller. Of course I knew Jane and also Sally. And now Sally has left us. My most enduring and heartfelt sympathies go to you at this time. Your Mom called me for some info after Dan had passed and I helped as I could. Saw Sally a few short years ago at church, Central Pres. Always was impressed with your wonderful family. My wife and I are so sorry for your loss, may God keep you and your family. God Bless, George M. Evans

After Sally was elected as Indiana State Representative, we connected with her about a proposed stone quarry in our area. She empathized saying she had lived next to one and knew the effects. She not only supported us locally but took a stand at the state level against legislation harmful to us and others. Her honesty and dedication were admirable. Her faith shined and should be an example to others in community service. Happy Eternity, Sally.

Deepest Sympathy and prayers to the family and all who love Sally. I had the privilege of serving as a Bible Study Fellowship leader along side her and share her passion for Quarter horses. It was a joy to support her as she represented our community with excellence in the political realm. I am so saddened to recently learn of her illness and passing on to her heavenly home. I have missed seeing her out and about during the pandemic. Thankful to know she was loved and cared for at University Place.
