Ryan Lockwood, 18, of Lafayette, died at 10:51 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, in Lafayette.
Born Feb. 12, 1992, in Lafayette, he was the son of Scott and Sue Allen Lockwood of Lafayette.
Mr. Lockwood graduated from McCutcheon High School in 2010 and was a freshman at Purdue University, studying computer graphics technology. He worked at the Goodwill Store on 350 South.
He had been a member of the Ultimate Frisbee Club and Boy Scouts, and enjoyed working on cars, motorcycles and computers.
Surviving with his parents is a brother, Trevor A. Lockwood of Lafayette.
Also surviving are grandparents, Ronald and Loretta Lockwood of Edinburg, Ill., and Mary Lou Allen of Lafayette; and several aunts uncles and cousins.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service 10 a.m. Thursday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, the Rev. Clayton Kendall officiating. Interment at Meadow View Cemetery. Those wishing may contribute to the Almost Home Humane Society.

Scott & Family: I am saddened to hear of the death of your son Ryan. I pray your family receives all the strength, love & comfort the three of you and your extended family need in order to cope with this heartbreaking loss of your loved one, Ryan.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. I know your grief seems unbearable but it will get a little easier as each day passes. Just be thankful of the eighteen years and of all the memories you had with him. I am sure he was a fine young man full of hopes and dreams, just beginning his life. He would have been my third cousin, and I regret we never had a chance to meet because I think we would have had many things to talk about since I am quite a computer ""nerd"" buff. I&ll never forget the great times Tyler and I had camping with Scott and Ryan with Troop 310 - especially that fantastic trip to Alaska. Ryan had such a great time on that trip and his spirit and good humor added so much to the group. He was such a great, fun-loving young man and I&m sure made you both very proud as his parents. I worked with ryan at goodwill since the store opened. He was always the best guy to work with. Ryan never seemed to be upset, always up beat and happy. He was the first person to say I looked like Elaine from seinfield. All of my senior year in pre cal class with Ryan he made sure all of his friends called me Elaine. ha ha. I remember the last day I saw him was at the goodwill half off sale on saturday. Paula had him coming through the back room doors with a hand clapper to get shoppers attention. Ryan smiled, laughted, and clapped everytime he exited the doors with new product. Thats how i remember Ryan one of the most funniest, kind, smart, and friendly people I have ever met. Im sorry for your loss and wish I could be at the visitation but I am going to college right now and my time does not allow me to make it home. I pray for your family and offer my condolences to this hard time in everyones lives.

I worked with Ryan last year when I worked at the South Lafayette Goodwill. He was such a joy to work with and was such a great kid. He will be sorely missed.

You will go on with life but it will never be the same but you just continue for your son.
