Ruth Ellen Morgan

Ruth Ellen Morgan, 66, of West Lafayette, died at 12:38 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 13, 1943, in Lafayette and was the daughter of the late Edgar Hawkins and Ellen Dawson Underwood. She graduated from Dayton High School in 1961 and from Indiana State University in 1966.
On April 1, 1967, she married Dennis W. Morgan in Lafayette, and he survives.
Mrs. Morgan was a professional musician playing keyboards and accordion.
She was a member of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament.
Surviving with her husband are three daughters, Sister Marie (Mary Lynn) Morgan, OSF of Mishawaka, Amy Kotha (husband: Ajay) of Castle Rock, Colo., and Christy Kerrigan (husband: Charlie) of West Point; and a son, Michael Morgan of Chicago.
Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Andrew, Greg, Christopher, Nicole (husband: David), Maya, and Devika. Ruth was preceded in death by a brother, James Hawkins.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with rosary service at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN 47909 And also 1 hour prior to a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 2224 Sacramento Dr., West Lafayette, IN 47906 with Fr. David Buckles officiating. Entombment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. I am truly sorry about your lose. I wished I could be there but the drive is long for me. Ruth was from May to Oct. younger than me and I always thought of her as a
"sister" instead of a cousin. I am going to miss her very much.

I have many great memories of listening to Ruth and Curly at the LVB Christmas parties. It seemed that Ruth always had a smile and loved what she was doing.

My heart goes out to all of you. May the wonderful memories you all have help you through this sad time.

She is with our Lord and no longer suffering and for that we can all be thankful.
