Ruby Fay Armstrong, 84, of West Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at IU Health Arnett Hospital, with loved ones by her side.
She was born July 9, 1939, in Rochester. She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Armstrong; her two daughters, Traci Boyenga (John), Rhonda Lanie (Jim); her four stepsons, Todd Armstrong (Corrine), Cory Armstrong, Kevin Armstrong, and Chad Armstrong. Along with three grandchildren, Sydney Boyenga, Payton Lanie, and Grace Lanie; and brother, Ralph Edington.
After graduating from Rochester High School, Ruby attended business school and had a long career as an executive secretary at National Homes.
She was a beloved member of Christ United Methodist Church. She spent many years volunteering on several church community outreach programs such as, Feed the People, Kids Jubilee Christmas, Chicken Noodle Dinners, Dimes for Turkeys and Kids Backpack Program. She was a regular member of the Women’s Bible Study.
Ruby enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping at Macy’s, playing Euchre with friends, and organizing get together with friends and family. She never met a stranger, and her quick wit and sense of humor will be cherished by those who loved and knew her. She had a big heart, always fought for the underdog, and was her daughters’ biggest champion. She was always there for them and is loved dearly.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00pm on Saturday, October 28, 2023, until time of service at 12:00 pm, at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, 1718 W. 350 N., West Lafayette. Rev. Kurt Freeman officiating.
