Roy was a fascinating business man. I was lucky to help design Our Time restaurant for him in the late 70's. Although I was just an employee of Wick Rimert, I was given a lot of freedom in creating the design that was built. Roy was amenable to everything we suggested, as I recall. Spending time with him was always interesting.

Roy was a good person to work for. I last saw him six months ago leaving a doctor's appointment. He was in good spirits. Rest in peace.

So sorry for your loss, I know the pain & hurt you are feeling. I lost my husband last October. I am writing this because I went to school with Carson, although he probably doesn’t remember me. Just wanted to send my condolences.

I am sorry to see Roy go. He was quite a guy. I golfed with him quite a bit. One day I was putting really well and he wasn't. He said I wish I could putt like you do with that putter. He was using a new one and he had just paid $125 for it. So I said do you want to trade. He said yes and we did. He did not do any better with mine !! I did not do as well with his either and have not been as good since !!!

Rest peacefully Roy. Roy Meeks is the reason I became a hospitality professional. He gave me a chance to help manage his Best Western and Hour Time Resturant and Buccaneer Bay. I remain in the business and am grateful for my experience there. Thank you to Roy. My condolences to his family. He was such a tough but fun man to be around. Again Rest in Peace!

My heartfelt sympathies and prayers are sent to Carson, Cy, Garry and all of Roy's family and friends. I had the privilege to work with Roy for many years at the Radisson, Hour Time Restaurant, Best Western and Buccaneer Bay. He was a shrewd businessman...loyal to his staff...well-read...well-traveled...great story-teller...true friend. Above all, he loved Fran, his sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, family and friends. How appropriate that he would leave this world 15 years to the day that 'big-Fred' left us. Fred, Sr. was his 'partner-in-crime', and Roy remembered (and re-told) stories of all of their shenanigans. Roy, Fran, Fred and Rachel are finally back together. I can only imagine the party that they're having!
