BATTLE GROUND ? Ronald L. Wien, 63, of Battle Ground, died at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at St. Elizabeth East.
Born June 27, 1946, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late John and Frances Knowles Wien. He graduated from Southwestern High School.
His marriage was to Ingrid Cornell in 1963, and they later divorced.
Mr. Wien was an engineer for the CSX Railroad, and retired on disability July 1, 1990. He was a member of the Uptowners Club and enjoyed cars and railroad memorabilia.
Surviving are two sisters, Shirley Powell of Lafayette and Sue Strong (husband: Phillip) of Clearmont, N.C.;
Also surviving are 3 nieces, Cindy Blankenship (husband: Dustin) of Lafayette, Pam Weidenhammer (husband: Ross) of Crestview Fla., and Glenda Mellady of West Lafayette; a nephew, Steven Winstead (wife: Kirstin) of Lafayette; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Paul Schuh, Riley Winstead, Jaidyn Winstead, Alan Weidenhammer, Ryan Weidenhammer and Trace Mellady.

Although it&s been many years since we&ve seen each other, I&ve though about Ron over the years and what had happened to him and the rest of you. I am sorry for your loss and you will be in my prayers. I know there isn&t much I can do, but maybe this voice from the past can in some small way help you in your time of sorrow.

My thoughts and prayers go to the family at this time. I went to church with Ron(Ronnie) at Elston. Just this past week I had memories of all my church friends from Elston. Taking my 3 yr. old grand-daughter to her first experience of Bible School at Dayton sure brought back fond memories of the fun and friendship I had attending Elston&s Bible School. Ron was a part of that.

We&re very sorry for your loss. Ron is a good man, he and my husband worked together at CSX. Ron always had a smile and a hug for me, his laugh was contagious. He will truly be missed.
