Roland Carl Johnson, 75, of Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly in his home, Wednesday, March 15, 2023.
He was born December 28, 1947, in Watseka to the late Roland Clifford and Irma Lucille (Allison) Johnson. He was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. On February 12, 1971, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann Haupt. She survives. Roland proudly served in the United States Army, and was a Territory Sales Representative for Lafayette Venetian Blind. He was a 31-year member of American Legion Post #11.
Roland was an outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, and gardening. He also liked to get his hands dirty, working on all kinds of projects. He was a “jack of all trades”. He could fix anything. Above all, Roland cherished time spent with his family and his buddies.
Along with his wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by their 2 children, Jason (Michelle Short) Johnson and Jennifer (Duskin) Davenport, both of Lafayette; 9 grandchildren, 3 siblings, Sharon (Mike) Mertz of Lakeland, FL, Mark Johnson of Yellville, AR, and Doris (Rick Hoag) Johnson of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Irma Johnson; a grandchild; and his sister-in-law.
