Robert P. Bowsher, 74, of Lafayette, died at 5:03 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010 at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus.
Born Sept. 28, 1935, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Victor and Anna Decker Bowsher.
His first marriage was to Norma Jean Coppock in 1955, and they divorced in 1975. He then married Pamela Clevenger on May 31, 2006 in Lafayette, and she survives.
Mr. Bowsher was retired from Purdue. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks, hotrods, NASCAR and crossword puzzles.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Kathy Tudder of Danville, Ky., and Jackie Tweddell-Wilson (husband: David Wilson) of Lafayette; a son, Bill Bowsher (wife: Kim) of West Point; a stepson, David Kincade, his stepmother, Betty Bowsher, and a half brother, Paul Bowsher, all of Lafayette.
Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, Katina Myers (husband: Derrick), John Emerson, David Tudder, Josh Bowsher, William, Shaunna and Elisha Tweddell, Melinda Holmberg (husband: Kevin) and Mary Harris (husband: Chris); 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Raymond and Bud Bowsher.
Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the 1 p.m. service on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909, the Rev. Dr. Clayton Kendall officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Vale Cemetery. Those wishing may contribute to the American Cancer Society.
