Robert Ellsworth

Robert T. Ellsworth, 70, of Lafayette, died at 5:58 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Central.
Born July 6, 1939, in Ashland, Ky., he was the son of the late Roscoe and Nina Sparks Ellsworth. He graduated from Montmorenci High School and attended Purdue University. He volunteered in the National Guard for six years.
On Nov. 22, 1959, he married Bonnie Best in Lebanon, and she survives.
Mr. Ellsworth worked at Eli Lilly for 10 years, leaving to open Ellsworth Real Estate in Lafayette. He owned and operated B&B Antiques, retiring in 1994.
He served as president of the Landowner?s Association and was on the board of the Home of Hope. He enjoyed gardening and antiquing.
Surviving with his wife are his children, Kimberly J. Ellsworth and Tina R. Jenkinson, both of Lafayette, Elizabeth “Beth” A. Marler of Hiram, Ga., and Robert “Rob” R. Ellsworth (wife: Chris) of Mooresville.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by 2 grandsons and a great-grandson.
Friends may call one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service on Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., with Nathan Miller officiating. A private family interment will follow the service at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.

Hi Bonnie,

I worked with Bob at Lilly&s and we had many good times together. I doubt that you remember but Bob, Dave Wilkinson and I ran together in the late 60&s.

I&ve often thought of him and wondered where he finally resided.

I work with Tina and have been praying for your family for the last couple of months since her father has gotten worse. I am so sorry for your loss and send you my deepest sympathy. I know watching Tina for a while going through this that her father was a very special person. Not ever knowing him, I can see that he must of been a wonderful man, seeing how his family has been trying to get him better and feeling like himself again. Bonnie and family,
I&m sorry sorry for your lose. I hadn&t seen Bob in several years, but I know he wasn&t well the last time I seen him. I often thought of you and Bob and would ask about him when I seen you at the Lilly cafeteria. Bob and I went back a long way, he was always one that I considered to be a good friend. I have many fond memories of Bob and the times we spent together either chasing coins or antiques. I will always remember him and keep him in my heart.
