Robert E. Stephenson, 78, of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Franciscan Health Lafayette.  He was born on October 23, 1947, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, to the late Eugene and Anna (Allen) Stephenson.  Bob graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1965 and served in the Army from 1968 to 1971.   On April 10, 1976, he married Donna Dickison in Lafayette and she survives.

Bob worked for Landis Gyr for 35 years and Caterpillar for 10 years, retiring in 2016.  He enjoyed attending Aviators baseball games, riding his bicycle, and attending his son’s and grandchildren’s activities and events.

Surviving along with his wife are his sons Justin R. (Brandy) Stephenson, Tyler E. Stephenson all of Lafayette; and grandchildren, Griffin M. Stephenson and Emma J. Stephenson.  He was preceded in death by his siblings John Stephenson and Peggy Brouwer.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, with Pastor Kurt Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette, Indiana.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Honor Flight or Wounded Warrior Project in Robert’s memory.
