Robert Carl Crumbo, 83, of Lafayette, died at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, October 7, 2012, at his residence.
He was born September 29, 1929, in Lafayette, to the late George and Louise Hart Crumbo.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from January 5, 1951, to May 31, 1952.
He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1947.
On September 26, 1953, he married Anita Downey in Dayton and she survives.
Robert worked at Fairfield Manufacturing for over 30 years before retiring in 1986.
He enjoyed watching football, NASCAR and Days of Our Lives on television.
Surviving along with his wife are three daughters, Jan (husband: Tom) Knight, of West Lafayette, Carla (husband: Rick) Nydegger, of Monticello, Kathy (husband: Gary) Skiles, of Lafayette; two brothers, Ron (wife: Marilyn) Crumbo, of Seattle and Bill (wife: Yvonne) Crumbo, of Port Ritchie, Fla.; a sister, Wanda Shipp, of Ft. Myers, Fla.; five grandchildren, Kraig Knight, Tracy and Clint Moore, Monica Rennick and Shanna Bridge; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Candice Boyer; two grandsons, Clayton Moore and Rob Knight; and a great-granddaughter, Thea Moore.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Boulevard Lafayette, IN 47909; Pastor Darl Clemons officiating.
Burial will follow at Wyandotte Cemetery.
