Robert C. Tracy, 74, of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Franciscan Health East.

He was born October 23, 1948, in Lafayette, to the late Robert and Barbara (Jacklin) Tracy.

After high school Robert served two terms during Viet Nam with the Marine Corps. He attended Purdue University and the California College of Arts and Crafts.

His marriage was to Linda Perigo on October 7, 1969 and she survives.

Robert was an artist and enjoyed painting, drawing, baking, reading and cross stitch.

Surviving with his wife, Linda L. Tracy of Lafayette, are two daughters, Gretchen Zappala of Lafayette and Heather Tracy of Wichita, KS, a sister, Janet Landman of Boston, MA, and three grandchildren, Dominic Zappala, Francesca Zappala and Axel Kamphaus.

Robert was preceded in death by two brothers, Steven and Michael Tracy.

There will be a celebration of Robert’s life on November 4, 2023 at Kathy Jordan’s, 2218 Charles St. Lafayette, IN from 2:00 until 5:00 pm.

Saddened by the news of Bob's passing. Thank you for your service. And thank you for your gift of your artistic talent. Prayers for Linda and your children and grandchildren.

A good man gone to heaven. I served with Bob in Vietnam, and we all live hell on earth. RIP Robert

I have fond memories of Bob from high school. I was in Steve's class, but Bob was so friendly and nice, not above talking and joking with lower classmen. I'm sending prayers to all of his family for comfort and strength during this time of heartfelt sorrow and I hope that you can find warm smiles in remembering his presence in your lives.

Linda, my deepest sympathy to you and your daughters. May God comfort and bless you. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Please accept my condolences at this sad time. I served with Robert in Echo Co., 1st Recon Bn. I considered him a friend. We used to play a card game in the enlisted men’s tent. A silly game called “Back Alley Bridge”

Linda I just read about Roberts passing and wanted to let you know i will be praying for you and your family to have peace and comfort during the grieving of your husband and father. Robert thank you for your service to our county.

My heart goes out to Linda and her daughters, and I wish to express my deepest condolences. Robert was a kind soul who was always willing to listen to whatever I may be talking about. He was a talented artist, but I did not recognize this till much later in life. His art was subtle, yet at the same time very profound. He will be dearly missed by family and friend alike.

My deepest condolences to Robert's wife and family. I met Robert when he came to visit in California many years ago and almost immediately we connected as ideological and artists soul mates, as he was maybe the only artist who identified what I did in my art work. I am very sorry we could not spend more time together and will miss him.
