Richard Steven Grammer, 66, of Lafayette, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
He was born October 28, 1956, in Lafayette to the late Richard L. and Shirley Ilene (Hoskins) Grammer. On July 15, 1978, Steve married the love of his life, Cathy Ann Smith, who he shared his life with for the past 44 ½ years.
Steve was the owner of Quality Heating & Cooling, which he ran with his brother and best friend, Mike. He loved to ride his Harley with Cathy by his side. They would go on rides with Mike and Karen on the backroads, Sturgis, Key West, FL, and Michigan. Steve loved to travel and enjoyed large family vacations and camping with his family. Along with riding his Harley, he enjoyed playing Corn Hole and was an expert at the game. He was a proud business owner, and he loved his customers. Steve and his family attended South Side Wesleyan Church where Steve was the Sunday School Superintendent. Steve loved God and the relationship he had with him.
Above all, Steve loved his family! He always said he had the Best Brother in the World. Steve and Mike were exceptionally close, and Steve loved him so much! Steve cherished the time spent with Cathy and their children and grandchildren.
Along with his wife Cathy, he is survived by his 3 children, Lori (Rick) Johnson, Daniel (Amanda) Grammer, and Jessica (Sergio) Pacheco, all of Lafayette; 12 grandchildren; 2 siblings, Theresa (Doug) Wiggins, Mike (Karen) Grammer, of Lafayette; and his 3 pet children, Harley, Teddy, and Lizzy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Shirley Grammer; and sister, Sue Stinson.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm, Monday, May 8, 2023, at Soller-Baker, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909 with Pastor Joe Park Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow at Pretty Prairie Cemetery, Tyler Road, Battle Ground, IN 47920.
