Richard G. Poore, 62, of Lafayette died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at IU Arnett Hospital. He was born September 29, 1952, in Lafayette to the late William and Elizabeth Clark Poore. Richard served in the United States Army from 1972 until 1974 and worked for the Tippecanoe County Highway Department for over 25 years. He was a Life Member of the American Legion Post 492 and enjoyed spending time with his friends. Surviving is Millie Harlow who he look on as his daughter, a sister June Fuller (Jerry) of Lafayette and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his special companions in life Cheryl Lucas, Nancy Hammond and many friends he considered family. Richard was preceded in death by a brother Michael Poore, a sister Mary Poore and nephews Anthony and Eric Poore. Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until the time of service at 3:30 PM on Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Pastor David French officiating. Interment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Claire E. and Patrick G. Mackey Children's Cancer Foundation.
