Richard G. Meyer, 77, of West Lafayette, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, at IU Health Arnett Hospital.  He was born September 18, 1946, in Ripon, WI, to the late Gilbert and (Hazel) Gatzke Meyer.

Richard graduated from Ripon High School in Ripon, WI in 1964 and the University of Wisconsin in 1968, where he played multiple sports.

In March 1981, he married Karen Grundberg (Burkle) and she preceded him in death in July 1998.

Richard started out working as a sporting goods representative, owned two retail sporting good stores, and worked in residential real estate sales, Subaru Isuzu and Hertz, retiring 10+ years ago.

Richard enjoyed playing golf (member of The Elks Country Club), spending time with his family and following his beloved Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers.

Surviving is his son Todd (Diane) Grundberg of Hinsdale, IL, and grandchildren Nick, Luke, Max and Sammy.

Also surviving are his siblings Charles (Kay) Meyer of Milwaukee, WI, and Kathy (Ed) Husting of Goodyear, AZ.

Visitation will be from 10:30 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am on Monday, March 11, 2024, at First Christian Church, 329 North 6th Street, Lafayette, Rev. Andrew Guthrie officiating. Interment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette, IN.

Memorial contributions may be made to Almost Home Humane Society (https://www.almosthomehumane.org/donate) in Richard’s memory.
