The United Methodist Memorial Home (Heritage Pointe Communities) sends it sincere condolences to Rev. Johnson's family. Larry served on our Board of Trustees from June 1999 - June 2008 and from July 2009 - June 2018, for a total of 18 years. His leadership as a Board member was invaluable. He had a passion for the well-being of our residents and staff and improving their lives--while fulfilling his duties as a Board member. He will be missed by all those who had the privilege to know him and call him a friend.

Rev Nancy Nichols left a message on December 21, 2023:
Both of your parents meant so very much to me. I can’t imagine anyone I would’ve rather worked with those first couple of years in ministry. Larry was so patient and kind as I was learning how to do what it is we do! He was also willing to learn from me. He told me not to take Monday as my days off because all I would be doing was fretting over the day before and so I have always taken Fridays. He taught me the importance of hospital calls, of going home for lunch, and for loving my churches. He was real! I do not know if I will be there for his service. I’m headed out of town to be with family. Something else he taught me was important. I will be thinking of you, thinking of your dad, and will be standing in honor and remembrance of both your parents at annual conference this year.
