Raymond E. Lowery, 66
Raymond E. Lowery, 66, of West Lafayette, died at 11:47 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at Home Hospital.
He was born on April 3, 1943, in Montgomery County, and was the son of the late Frank and Edith Myers Lowery. He graduated from Alamo high School in Montgomery County.
Mr. Lowery served in the Army from May 7, 1964, to May 6, 1966, during the Vietnam War.
On Feb. 1, 1967, he married Sadako Nakanishi in Crawfordsville.
Mr. Lowery was employed by the Purdue Police Department for several years, then at Eli Lilly & Co. for 27 years, working in the dispensing department.
He enjoyed music, history and doing mechanical work on cars.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Roy Lowery of Indianapolis; a daughter, Rose Hwang (husband: Young) of West Lafayette; three sisters, Margaret Kochert (husband: Tony) and Martha Keys (husband: Robert), both of Crawfordsville, and Betty Lowery of Indianapolis; and four brothers, Bill Lowery (wife: Donna) of Williamsport, Richard Lowery (wife: Diane) of Middleton, John Lowery (wife: Phan) of Hamilton and Walter Lowery (wife: Margaret) of Lebanon.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Alex, Adam and Aaron Hwang.
