Ralph K. Achgill, 85, of Lafayette IN passed away November 11, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born to the late Kenneth and Lois (Phillips) Achgill June 17, 1938, in Indianapolis IN.

Ralph graduated from Southport High School Southport IN and began a 38 year career with Eli Lilly and Company, traveling the globe for them and retiring as a Research Scientist in 1993.

Ralph was a 50 Year Mason at Dayton Lodge #103, a member of Dayton OES, Lafayette High Twelve, Indianapolis Valley of the Ancient Scottish Rite and York Rite. He attended Dayton Presbyterian Church and served on the Sheffield Volunteer Fire Department. He established several hobbies which he enjoyed immensely, including raising champion New Zealand White rabbits, house boating on Lake Monroe and collecting First Day Covers which he turned into a business.

Ralph was preceded in death by his Mother Lois, Father Ken, Daughter Brenda, wife of 36 years Jenny and wife of 25 years Diane. He is survived by his children Ken Achgill of Lafayette, Doug Achgill of Sebring FL, Kerry Achgill of Lafayette and Bridget Fairlie (Ken) of Wichita KS, his Brother Gary Achgill (Deb) of Lafayette, 5 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd.  Service will be 1:30 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Michael Grimes officiating.  Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may by made to the American Cancer Society in Ralph’s memory.
