Phyllis M. Levek, 68, of West Lafayette, died at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 22, 1942, in Joliet, Ill., and was the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Marie F. Gould Rapson.
On Oct. 2, 1964, she married Robert P. Levek, Ph.D., in Joliet. He died in May 1995.
Mrs. Levek was a member of Church of the Blessed Sacrament, YWCA Cosmopolitan Club and enjoyed her Saturday Morning Breakfast Club and bowling with the Cosmo Bowling League. She was an avid bridge player and a member of several area bridge clubs. She was a former Pink Lady at St. ELizabeth Hospital and enjoyed going to auctions, antiquing and traveling with family and friends. She also was an avid Purdue football and basketball fan.
Surviving are two brothers, David Rapson (wife: Peggy)of Morris, Ill., and Richard Rapson (wife Cheri) of Channahon, Ill.
Also surviving are a brother- and sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a special aunt, Florence Rapson, and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Church of the Blessed Sacrament 2224 Sacramento Dr., West Lafayette, IN 47906 with Fr. David Buckles officiating. A private family burial will be held in Joliet, Ill., at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute to the American Cancer Society at 2723 S. Albright Rd., Kokomo, IN 46902.
