Phyllis J. Taylor, 81, of Lafayette passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Logansport Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 7, 1937 in Lafayette, Indiana, the daughter of the late Charles O. and Mabel Ruth (Tribble) Ferguson. She was married to Thomas E. Taylor on August 2, 1957 who preceded her in death on June 11, 2009.
Phyllis was self-employed and cleaned several houses and businesses in the Lafayette area.
She enjoyed her retirement spending time working puzzles, coloring, reading, watching her soap operas, and cheering for the Purdue Boilermakers. She also had a special place in her heart for her pets.
She is survived by her daughters; Jill L. Baker (deceased husband Mike), of Terre Haute, Jackie A. Sharrer (husband Larry), of Baltimore, OH, Denise K. Schoensiegel (husband Frank) of Logansport, and her grandchildren, Josh Wraight (wife Bobbie), Nate Baker (wife Mia), Zach Schoensiegel, and a step granddaughter Mindy Vernon (husband Keith), and 10 great grandchildren.
She was the youngest of eleven siblings who have all preceded her in death; Clinton, Rosemary Minnier, Charles Jr. (Dude), William, Glenn, Edit (Jo Ann) Carpenter, Ruth Holt, Jon, Don, and Rex.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 3rd with service to follow at 11:00 AM at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Entombment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
