Phillip D. Reisner, 76, of Lafayette passed peacefully on March 18, 2018 in his home surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on May 15, 1941 in Terre Haute to the late Dale and Louise (Settles) Reisner. Phillip graduated from Pimento High School and received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana State University. He proudly served in the Navy and the Navy Reserves. He married Deborah Bennett on January 6, 2006 and she survives.
Phillip was a retired teacher having taught industrial technology at both Tuttle Middle School and Crawfordsville High School. He was a consummate writer and published several books of prose and poetry, documenting his remarkable life. He had a deep love for God and his country and attended Christ United Methodist Church.
Phillip will be remembered as a kind and patient husband, parent, grandfather, brother, teacher, and coach. He greatly impacted the world through his example of strength, love, guidance, and wisdom.
In addition to his wife, Phillip is survived by: son, Brook (June) Reisner of Noblesville; daughter, Kristen (Aaron) Carlson of Denver, CO; daughter, Angela (Mitch) Miller of Alpharetta, GA; stepdaughters, Natasha Phillips of Lafayette, Alisha (Scott) Medlock of Austin, TX, and Rebekah Bralts (Drew Goodall) of Lexington, KY; sister, Venita (Stan) Helfenbein of Bloomington; brother, Warren (Sue) Reisner of North Carolina; 6 grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beautiful daughter, Kaitlyn.
