John, Carol and Family, I am so sorry to hear of Penny’s passing. I remember how hard Penny played during her athletic endeavors at TECUMSEH. What fun she was to coach. She might have lacked height in basketball but she could block out and use those elbows just fine. Shelby, you played basketball just like your Mom. So glad she became a much-loved teacher. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Andi

Penny sure was one in a million. We started together at Edgelea then moved to Vinton together. She was an amazing friend, teacher, overall person. I'm sure she's wearing her favorite eeyore pajamas living her best life with both of her loves. She will be dearly missed by many.

Our hearts and prayers go out to Aidyn and all of Penny's family. We had the privilege of knowing Penny and Aidyn for a short period of time while she was in Indianapolis for treatments. Penny and Aidyn stayed with us at Fair Haven Foundation. Every visit to the apartment to spend time with them was special. Visiting her in the hospital was a privilege. Penny always had a smile and the love of God just shone through those beautiful blue eyes. She will be missed so many because she left an imprint on your heart wherever she was. May the memories of her love, kindness, fun help bring you some comfort.

Our deepest condolences for the family. Penny and Tammy both have always meant so much to our family. When Tanner first met Penny she immediately made him at ease by telling him how she liked to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Immediately after we got home, he had to do it her way. She was not only a teacher to the kids and parents, but a friend and inspiration. She even helped us out when we ran into her at the store while Christmas shopping so we could keep Austin distracted. She will be missed greatly, but we know that she is at peace and her impact on the lives of children will be remembered forever. Deepest Sympathy, Larry, Katrina, Tanner and Austin Boes

I know I only got to hang out with her once, but she was a joy to be around at Epcot. She was always smiling and having fun with us the entire day. She was a sweetheart, and I loved getting to hear all of Shelby’s stories about her.
