Peggy Sue Trent, 59, of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022 at IU Health Arnett Hospital.

She was born August 17, 1963, in Lafayette, to Janice Sue (Shearer) Adkins Jarrard of Lafayette and the late Deward Woodrow Adkins.

Peggy attended McCutcheon High School and worked the production staff for Lafayette Venetian Blind for several years.

She married Richard L. Trent and he survives.

Peggy enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandchildren and helping others as well as gardening, fishing, camping, being outdoors, crafts and woodworking.

Surviving with her mother and husband are two sons, Tommie CJ Purcell III and Joshua D. (wife Crystal Lynn Lathrop) Purcell both of Williamsport, a daughter, Melissa Blevins of Lafayette, three step-sons, Richard L. Trent, III of NC, Zachary J. Trent of Lafayette, and Jesse M. (wife Amanda) Trent of Carmel and a sister, Tari (husband Paul) Wilson of Lafayette. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren with one on the way.

Peggy was preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Blevins, a sister, Cathy Blevins and three grandchildren, Hayden Connor Purcell and Austin and Cheyanne Burton.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 4:00 pm on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN 47909.

I thought I met Peggy when I was a bartender and she was always so sweet. I just found out that I may have actually met her before that though, because my brother is friends with her kids' dad Tommie and I used to go to his garage with my brother. Peggy was always so so quiet when I would see her, but she would always have a smile on her face and make me smile if I didn't have one on my face. I haven't seen her in a long time but I have definitely thought of her often when I needed to smile. I will definitely miss her. R.I. P. sweet lady.
