Peggy Ann Higbee, 52, of Lafayette, died at 4:46 PM Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Central.
She was born June 25, 1959, in Lafayette, to Harris C. and Wanda E. Hollenbaugh Hine of Lafayette.
She graduated from McCutcheon High School in 1977.
On April 30, 1983 she married Thomas Higbee in Lafayette and he survives.
Peggy enjoyed cooking, shopping, fishing, hunting mushrooms, needle point, cross stitch, playing cards, spending time with family and loved life.
Surviving along with her husband and parents are two sons Clayton Higbee of Lafayette, and Walter Higbee of Ft. Campbell, KY; two sisters Debbie Snider (husband Ross) of Fishers, Susan Hodge (husband Jim) of Lafayette; two brothers Gary Hine (wife Belinda) of Lafayette and Dennis Hine (wife Kathlen) of Kansas City, KS.
Friends will be received from 12 noon till the memorial service at 3:00 pm on Monday, October 24, 2011 at St Lawrence Catholic Church, 1916 Meharry St., Lafayette, IN 47904 with Fr. Daniel Gartland officiating.
In lieu of flowers those wishing may contribute in her memory to the American Cancer Society.

I just wanted to share a time when I ran into Peggy at Meijer grocery shopping. We chatted for almost an hour remember the days our kids were in Hershey, East Tipp and Harrison. We laughed alot as we shared great memories about the times our kids spent together. What I remember most about the conversation was how much she loved her family. She talked about each of you and how proud she was to be your wife and mother. Taylor and Kyle and many other kids have such great memories from the times spent at your house, they always felt so welcome. Peggy will always be remembered for her loving spirit and telling it how it was! We are all blessed to have known your wife and mother.
