Paul Wayne Mailloux, of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at the home of his son Michael (wife Janna) surrounded by family.
He was born October 26, 1931, in Fowler, Indiana to the late Phillip Mailloux and Ida (Windler) Mailloux. In 1950 he graduated from Wadena High School. In 1951 he was drafted into the US Army serving in the Signal Corp after attending Microwave, Radio and Radar training in Fort Gordan, Georgia and Ft. Monmouth, NJ before being sent to Korea where he served in the Combat Zone for one year before the Peace Armistice Agreement was signed. Paul worked for the Indiana State Police in communications and electronics for 40 years before retiring in 1999. Paul loved his family and friends enjoying his regular coffee get togethers, as well as tinkering in the garage on various projects.
Paul married the love of his life, Mary Louise (Francis) Mailloux in 1972, who passed April 3, 2023. He had 3 children, Ronald “Ronnie” (wife Kim), Elaine, Michael (wife Janna) and 3 stepsons, David “Dave” Vanderipe (Brenda), Richard “Rick” Vanderipe (Gigi) and Stephen “Steve” Vanderipe, brother-in-law Dan Francis (wife Cheryl), grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Phillip and Ida Mailloux and 8 older brothers and sisters, daughter Elaine, as well as stepson Stephen Vanderipe.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm, Friday, July 7, 2023, at Soller-Baker, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909.
A graveside service will follow at 1:30, Friday, July 7, 2023 at St. Boniface Cemetery, 2581 Schuyler Avenue, Lafayette, IN 47905.
