Patricia Easterly Hoon

Patricia Easterly Hoon, 71, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, in West Lafayette, Indiana. A celebration of life service will take place at City of God Church in Lafayette on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 3PM.

Patricia was a much beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend, and artist. She was born on March 9, 1954, in Morristown, New Jersey, to the late Nathan and Marjorie (Wood) Easterly.

Patricia studied interior design at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, where she met her husband of 49 years. She married Jeffrey V. Hoon on June 13th, 1976, and he survives. Patricia worked as an artist, art teacher, and librarian reference aid throughout her career. She also served as a director of Matrix Lifeline Pregnancy Center. Patricia pursued her love of art through watercolor, etchings, and quilting. She loved nature, reading, chocolate, and spending time with her loved ones. She was a dedicated member of her church for many years at Kossuth Street Baptist Church and most recently at City of God church.

Surviving along with her husband are her four children Vincent (Katie) Hoon, Matthew Hoon, Deborah (Tim) Kurtz, Juli (Drew) O’Cain, and her seven grandchildren: Sujata, Hudson, Winston, Calvin, Kira, Cali, and Macklan. Also surviving are her brothers William (Liz) Easterly and John Easterly.

Patricia will be remembered for her faith in Jesus, joy in all circumstances, and most of all her genuine love for others.
