Norman A. Neiburger

Norman A. (Lucky) Neiburger, 73, of Lafayette, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, June 3, 2012 in Lafayette, after a long battle with colon and liver cancer.
Lucky was born on October 8, 1938, in Lafayette, to the late Norman O. and Hope Woodworth Neiburger. He graduated from Jefferson High School and Purdue University.
On July 18, 1992, Lucky married Janice R. Morehouse at Covenant Church, West Lafayette.
Lucky was a pilot in the United States Air Force and flew a C-124 Globemaster to 36 different countries. He taught Basic Real Estate 101 at Purdue and was vice president of Neiburger Insurance Agency. For the past 46 years, he was president of Debt Doctors, Inc. and owner and broker of Neiburger Real Estate.
Lucky served as deacon for Faith Church, where he also sang in the choir and was a counselor at Faith Biblical Counseling. He was president for Wabash River Parkway Commission, and Commissioner and President for Indiana Wabash River Heritage Corridor Commission.
In January 2012, Lucky was awarded the Corridor Citizen of the Year, chosen by the state Wabash River Heritage Corridor Commission.
Surviving along with his wife is a sister Lee Etta Fanning (husband, Bill); brother, Thomas Neiburger (wife, Linda); step-sons Michael and JP Thorpe; step-daughter, Erin Fredericks; eight grandchildren: Joscelyn, Jordan, Jillianne, Joshua, Joella, Jaeleah and Jennavieve Thorpe, and Alissa Fredericks.
Viewing will be held from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Faith Church, 5526 State Road 26 East, Lafayette. A private family burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
