Nancy L. Bookwalter, 76, of Lafayette died Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Indiana University Health. She was born May 12, 1939, in Crawfordsville to the late Elvis Hayes and Dorothy Hayes Watson. Nancy graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School and had attended Ivy Tech State College. On February 7, 1957 she married Roger Bookwalter in Fowler and he survives. Nancy had worked for Kroger for 20 years and then in Stewart Center at Purdue University before retiring. She was a member of First Assembly Community Ministries and was a member of the choir. She enjoyed singing, reading and spending time with her 6 grandchildren. Surviving along with her husband are her children Michael Bookwalter of Lafayette, Mark Bookwalter of Attica, Christina K. Keating (Jamie) of Lafayette, grandchildren Stuart Bookwalter, Amanda Keating, Karrie Keating, Erika Keating, great grandchildren Cody and Demi Bookwalter. Also survivng is her brother Edward Lee Hayes (Eleanor) of Alexandria, VA. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service will be 1:00 PM Friday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Pastor Todd Hair officiating. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Those wishing may contribute to the First Assembly Community Ministries.
