Molly was born on December 16, 1938, in Bloomington, Illinois, to Arthur and Ann Moore. She graduated from George Washington High School in Alexandria, Virginia in 1956 and the University of Illinois in 1960. She was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. On June 17, 1960, Molly married Richard S. Walbaum, with whom she shared many cherished years before his passing on July 1, 2009. Together, they created a loving family and made lasting memories.
Molly is survived by her sisters, Julie Morley of Winnetka, Illinois, and Susie Rodgers of Northbrook, Illinois, as well as her devoted sons: Jeff Walbaum of Morocco, Indiana, David (Megan) Walbaum of Nantucket, Massachusetts, and Daniel Walbaum of West Lafayette, Indiana. She also leaves behind five beloved grandchildren: Owen, Emma, Ellen, Henry, and Nathan Walbaum.
Throughout her life, Molly was deeply involved in her community, especially while her sons were in school and their activities. Beyond her professional endeavors, which included roles at Purdue University and Irvine Travel Service, she dedicated herself to various organizations, including Theta alumni groups, PEO International, Purdue President’s Council, and the John Purdue Club. Molly was also an avid reader. She enjoyed her time spent with loved ones, especially her grandchildren. Molly will be remembered for her warm smile and kind heart.
