Mildred Patrick, 85, of Lafayette, died at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010, at her residence.
She was born on Nov. 19, 1924, in Morley, Tenn., and was the daughter of the late Alonzo and Mary Leach Marlow. She attended school in Morley.
On Feb. 2, 1952, she married Louis Patrick in Kokomo. He died Dec. 1, 1998.
Mrs. Patrick owned Aca-Y-Alla Roller Rink before retiring in 1987. After that she worked for Burger King for 10 years.
Surviving is a daughter, Patricia Emry (husband: John) of Kokomo.
Also surviving are 2 granddaughters Christina Williams (husband: Bob) of Battle Ground and Cindy Jernagan (husband: Ron) of Attica, and 5 great-grandchildren, Patrick Harper and Shannon, Ryan, Janelle and Kelcie Jernagan. She was preceded in death by a brother Virgil Marlow.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at 2 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909, the Rev. Dr. Clayton Kendall officiating. My Deepest Sympathy, I will always remember the wonderful times at Aca-Y-Alla and working there behind the skate counter. Those were the best times of my life there, my second home. Mrs. Patrick was a gracious and special person to so many kids and I admired her a great deal. It has been 34 years and yet I find myself remembering all the fun times. She will live on in the memories of so many people that she touched. May God bless you and your family in your time of need, with fondest memories.
