Mildred I. Rice, 89, of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at IU Arnett Hospital.
She was born June 4, 1929, in Carroll County to the late Oakley V. and Mable C. Meeks Smith.
Mildred graduated from Delphi High School. On June 13, 1947 she married Robert R. Rice and he passed away on August 6, 2000. They were married for 53 years.
Mildred retired from the Arnett Clinic after 29 years of service. She was a member of the German American Club. Mildred enjoyed crocheting, pressing flowers, walking, traveling but mainly the time she had with her family and friends. She loved spoiling her grandchildren.
Surviving are son, Rick Rice of West Lafayette, daughter, Vicki Albregts of Lafayette and her companion Bill Platt; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mildred was preceded in death by brother, Robert Smith, and two sisters Bonnie Stephen and Donna Belle Eldridge.
Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00am on Saturday July 7, 2018 followed by funeral service at 10am Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Interment Kilmore Cemetery in Kilmore, Indiana.
